Albert Newton correspondence, 1846.

ALS (1846 October 6; Pernambuco, Brazil) from Newton to family members while aboard the bark Roscoe, 2d, of New Bedford, Mass., Asa S. Tobey, master. The bark was expected to sail to the Cape of Good Hope via Tristian (Tristan da Cunha) and would soon be in whaling areas of the Indian Ocean.
